What kind of results can I expect from being in the media?
I often get asked about my own media journey, and the things I experienced as a business owner, as a result of doing regular media. Here are the top three things I noticed:
1. AUDIENCE: I noticed that my audience became broader – the enquiries I was getting were now from also from larger businesses, and not just from my local city.
2. DIVERSIFICATION: Opportunities outside of my core business started coming across my desk – paid ambassadorships, more speaking gigs and other business development opportunities that whilst not all on brand, had a huge impact on my business.
3. ELEVATION: Whilst my capabilities, framework or approach hadn’t changed, my credibility had increased, and the perception and brand awareness had been elevated. This was the case not only within my own industry and existing networks, but outside of it too.
My own experience played a key part in becoming as passionate as I am about the power of media in business, and in the philosophy behind Expert Registry. Whilst I’m certainly a believer in a total business strategy, and not putting all your eggs in one basket, I do firmly believe that media delivers a power punch and a point of difference unrivalled by other methods. However, it can seem a little like cracking a complicated code for those not familiar with the media game.
Expert Registry was created for those that recognise the power of media, but don’t have the knowledge on how best to get the backstage pass, or fast track to media engagement. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has a media story to share – it’s just about getting it out there.
